This short column was launched to help keep neighbors informed about KWA board activities.  It is not intended to replace the official minutes, and the content can be blamed on the author, not the Association or its secretary.

The board met on March 21, 2018, and welcomed its new executive director, Tracy Moon. The board took formal action to allow Tracy to be added to the bank accounts. Tracy was introduced to the neighborhood at the spring social at the recently reopened Francis Bogside on April 4, 2018.

The March board meeting also welcomed an official representative from the Lavaca Neighborhood Association, Darryl Ohlenbusch. At the request of LNA President, Cherise Rohr-Allegrini, the two associations will exchange representatives at future board and general membership meetings. Our president, Chris Price, recently attended an LNA meeting.

The board met again on April 18, 2018 and welcomed LNA President Cherise Rohr-Allegrini. The board voted to acquire a license to update QuickBooks, the Association’s accounting software. The board also decided to table the request to reactive the graffiti committee. A number of land use issues were discussed, including short term rentals and activities of the Architectural Advisory Committee. The staff at the Office of Historic Preservation recently met with Tracy to introduce her to their office.
